Sonni Petrovski is an Australian-Macedonian composer, arranger, and artistic director based in Sydney. Working across orchestral music, opera, ballet, and film, his work brings a cinematic scale and emotional depth to international stages and screens.

Composers' Association of Macedonia - SOCOM

President, 2012-19

Led Macedonia’s national composers’ association across artistic programming, international partnerships, publishing and advocacy. During his presidency, SOKOM presented Days of Macedonian Music, Struga Musical Autumn, the Virtuosi Music Awards, and hosted the ECSA General Assembly in Skopje.

International collaborations included ECSA, ECPNM, SOKOJ, Croatian Composers’ Society / HDS-ZAMP, Association of Irish Composers, Union of Moscow Composers, Union of Bulgarian Composers, and ÖGZM Austria.

Days of Macedonian Music

Artistic Direction, 2005-19

Led the artistic renewal and international development of Macedonia’s principal contemporary-music festival. Across his later involvement with DMM and SOKOM, the festival hosted artists and ensembles including Simon Trpčeski, Peter Sheppard Skærved, Quatuor Diotima, New London Chamber Choir, Ensemble Reconsil Vienna, Freiburg Percussion Ensemble, Ensemble Aventure, Mivos Quartet, Steffen Schleiermacher, Antarja Quartet, Ensemble Meitar, Lauma Skride, Ensemble Zeitfluss and more.
